RIOT’s studio gives high importance to research conducted before the design phase, placing it on par with the final project— in order to challenge the notion that the end product is the sole focus of design studios. Beautifully crafted  ‘Big Books’ form a repository and archive for the students’ early work, including striking diagrams and thoroughly researched data that form the foundation for their designs.
